Multiple dorsoventral projections of the body are available for review. Linear amorphous heterogenous opacity consistent with fiber is visible throughout the proximal GI tract. A complete small animal skeleton, most likely the rat the snake also ingested, is visible immediately caudal to the fiber material. Radiopaque markers were placed to aid in surgical planning.
Foreign body ingestion (blanket).
The blanket was removed via an enterotomy, and the snake recovered well after surgery.

Very interesting!! Just one question: The lungs seem to be a bit hazy… Is this OK in a snake?
Thank you for the case! Have a nice summer!
Allison Zwingenberger says
Yes, the lungs are normal in this snake.

The rat made a bad decision for winter sleep in wrong place and wrong time!
