The cardiac silhouette is moderately enlarged with left atrial enlargement causing dorsal and lateral displacement of the principal bronchi. There is a broad based soft tissue opacity bulge effacing the cranial cardiac silhouette which appears to be confluent with the heart. There is a bulge in the left cardiac silhouette in the position of the left auricle. The pulmonary parenchyma is normal. No other abnormalities are noted.
The larger opacity dorsal to the heart is likely due to herniation of the right atrium through the pericardium. The left auricular bulge and left atrial enlargement are likely secondary to valvular insufficiency. There is no evidence of heart failure at this time.
