Today’s case is a 1-year-old male neutered Bull Mastiff with vomiting and lethargy. What is your recommendation?
The duodenum is enlarged and filled with striated soft tissue opacity material through the descending and ascending portions. On the left lateral projection, the pylorus is filled with gas highlighting the soft tissue material within it. The remainder of the small intestinal loops are normal in size to mildly fluid filled. The spleen is enlarged. No other abnormalities are noted.
Gastric and duodenal linear foreign body due to textile foreign material. Exploratory laparotomy is indicated.
Foreign body – sock
A gastrotomy was performed, and the sock was removed from the stomach and duodenum.
