The stomach is markedly enlarged with fluid and gas. There is a tubular soft tissue and mineral opacity structure visible in the pylorus, best seen on the left lateral and ventrodorsal projections. Several small intestinal loops are enlarged and contain granular material. There is fecal material in the colon and gas in the cecum.
Pyloric outflow obstruction due to foreign material. The position of the foreign material suggests extension into the duodenum. Surgery was recommended, and the animal was discharged with plans for the referring veterinarian to perform a laparotomy.
